Ken Block has signed up for Audi, together to push the boundaries of electric mobility

After cooperating with the Subaru and Ford brands, another block from Ken Block becomes Audi, with which he is to cooperate in the field of electromobility.

Earlier this year, Ken Block announced the end of its 11-year partnership with Ford. The breakup was supposed to be in a friendly spirit and Block became a freelance racer, but perhaps no one believed it would stay that way for long. And that is now confirmed

Ken Block has entered into a partnership with the German brand Audi, which is said to have ignited his passion for rally racing in the past. Exactly what the content of the new cooperation will be, the carmaker has not yet announced. However, she added that it would be “exclusive joint projects in the field of electric mobility.

Audi is a brand that ignited my passion for motorsport,Said Block. “I can’t wait to start this new chapter. Together we will develop new projects and push the boundaries of electric mobility,“Block said of the new cooperation.

The carmaker also added a number of photos to the press release, in which Block is captured behind the wheel of many iconic machines from the Audi Sport workshop, including the Sport Quattro S1 or V8 Quattro DTM. In other photos we can see it in cars such as the E-Tron Vision Gran Turismo or the Dakar special RS Q E-tron prepared for 2022.

According to frequent speculations, Block could sit behind the wheel of this electric offroad, which uses electrical components from Formula E E-tron FE07 and extends the range with an internal combustion engine with a tank for 295 liters of fuel.

After all, these speculations are recorded in a report from 2020, when Ken Block tried out driving the prototype Extreme E Odyssey 21 on the last stage of the Dakar Rally and set the third fastest time. But something tells us that, regardless of specific plans, we will soon see Block burning tires sideways – whether with classic or futuristic models from the Audi Sport workshop.
