Hawks Secure Keaton Wallace on Two-Way Deal
Guard Returns to Atlanta on Contract Extension
The Atlanta Hawks have officially retained guard Keaton Wallace, signing him to his two-way qualifying offer. This move brings a familiar face back to the roster, providing depth at the point guard position.
Wallace’s Deal and Previous Performance
Keaton Wallace accepted a one-year, two-way contract valued at $85,300. He previously received this qualifying offer earlier in the offseason. Last season, Wallace participated in 31 games for the Hawks.
He averaged 5.4 points and 2.6 assists over 16.2 minutes per contest. In the five games he started, Wallace significantly boosted his production, recording 13.8 points, 8.4 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.2 steals. However, his three-point efficiency was 29.4% in starts and 32.9% for the season.

Hawks’ Offseason Strategy
The Hawks have been active this offseason, adding several key contributors. Notable acquisitions include Kristaps Porzingis, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Luke Kennard, alongside rookie Asa Newell. While the team has bolstered its wing depth significantly, Wallace’s re-signing addresses a need for playmaking talent behind primary guards Trae Young and Kobe Bufkin.
Guard Depth Crucial for Hawks’ Plans
Keaton Wallace‘s familiarity with the team provides an immediate option. His ability to run the offense, particularly in expanded roles, could prove valuable. The signing ensures the Hawks have internal options to support their backcourt.
Last season, NBA teams saw an average of over 25 assists per game from starting point guards, highlighting the importance of reliable playmaking for offensive success (StatMuse, 2024). Wallace’s performance in his starts last season suggests he can contribute at a higher level when called upon.
Keaton Wallace is the older brother of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace.
