KBS Officially Limits Yoo Ah-in’s Appearances due to Alleged ‘Drug Use’

Actor Yoo Ah-in, accused of using four types of drugs, was banned from appearing in KBS.

A KBS official said in a phone call with YTN Star today (17th), “It is true that a temporary restriction on Yoo Ah-in’s appearances was imposed on the 15th. Depending on the results of the police investigation, there may be changes in the future.”

KBS Designates performers who have caused social controversy through illegal or immoral acts as subject to deliberation on broadcasting regulations. Yoo Ah-in is being investigated for drug use and is a target.

Meanwhile, at the end of last year, the police launched an investigation at the request of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, who claimed that Yoo Ah-in prescribed Propopol too frequently, and found out that Yoo Ah-in received prescriptions for Propopol at various hospitals and habitually took the medication.

The police secured Yoo Ah-in’s body hair and requested an appraisal from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation (hereinafter referred to as the National Forensic Service). The National Forensic Service reported to the police that a total of four types of narcotics were detected in Yoo Ah-in’s hair, including propofol, cannabis, cocaine, and ketamine.

The police plan to summon Yoo Ah-in for questioning as soon as the data analysis is completed.
