Kaye Adams Removed from BBC Radio Scotland Show following Internal complaint
Glasgow - Kaye Adams has been taken off her program on BBC Radio Scotland following an internal complaint regarding her behavior. The BBC has launched an investigation but has not disclosed the nature of the allegations.
Adams, a journalist and presenter with nearly 40 years of experience, joined BBC Radio Scotland in 2010, hosting the daily phone-in programme call Kaye until 2015. She currently co-hosts the station’s Mornings programme and is a regular panellist on ITV’s Loose Women. She appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, being the first contestant eliminated.
A spokesperson for Adams stated that no complaints had been presented to her by the BBC. The BBC Scotland press office confirmed it does not comment on individual cases but maintains “robust internal processes” for handling complaints and concerns.
The move comes amid increased scrutiny of workplace culture at the BBC. Earlier this year, the corporation introduced a ’call It Out’ scheme to encourage staff to report poor behaviour, following an self-reliant report that found some stars and managers “behave unacceptably.” The report was commissioned after the Huw Edwards scandal, involving admissions of offences relating to child abuse images. In July, several BBC staff were sacked following revelations of abuses of power, and allegations were also made against MasterChef hosts gregg Wallace and John Torode.
BBC chairman Samir Shah recently warned presenters that the organisation would address unacceptable behaviour, stating, “if you think you’re too big a star or too crucial to live by the values of this organisation, not onyl are you wrong, but we will find you out.”
Adams has not permanently left the BBC. Connie McLaughlin will present Mornings on Monday.
