An unusual announcement. It is on the Instagram account of Unicef, for which they are goodwill ambassadors, that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have decided to formalize the birth of their first child, this Thursday, August 27. It is about a little girl, named Daisy Dove Bloom.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, parents of little Daisy
The photo is touching, simple. In black and white, we see the hand of the American singer, and that of the British actor, shaking that of their newborn, all wrinkled after birth.
On her manicure, Katy Perry wears a small daisy, a nod to her daughter’s name, “Daisy” being the American word for this flower.
“We float with love and wonder at the arrival of our daughter, in full health and in safe conditions”, rejoices the couple, saying that the birth was “peaceful”.
The opportunity, then, to recall that many mothers around the world are currently giving birth in difficult conditions, while medical personnel and equipment are monopolized by the Covid-19 pandemic.
As such, they launched an online fundraiser to help young mothers and their infants, which will go to Unicef.
Katy Perry announced her pregnancy last March, revealing her round belly in her music video Never Worn White. In May, she this time appeared naked and pregnant in the music video Daisies, whose title was therefore a direct reference to the first name of his daughter.

The couple’s first child
Daisy Dove Bloom is the first child of Katy Perry, 35, and Orlando Bloom, 43. This little girl is however the second child of the actor, notably known for the sagas. Pirates of the Caribbean and the Lord of the Rings. In 2011, he had a son, Flynn, with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.
The couple formed in 2016, then separated a few months before reuniting in 2017. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom finally got engaged in February 2019, on Valentine’s Day. Katy Perry’s engagement ring featured stones forming a daisy. Maybe what inspired them for their daughter’s first name?
The singer had also written, in the caption of the photo: “Full bloom”, “full bloom”, a play on words with the name of her fiancé, which goes very well with the first name of little Daisy.
No wedding date has yet been announced.
