Kate Middleton and William, the gesture on Instagram that the Queen liked

Kate Middleton and Prince William have updated the profile photo of their social accounts, choosing a particular shot to celebrate an occasion to which the Royal Family has always given great importance. The gesture of the Dukes of Cambridge also inspired the Queen Elizabeth II, so much so that even his photo was promptly changed.

Until recently, peeking at the Pagina Instagram at Kensington Palace, dedicated to Kate Middleton and her splendid family, it was possible to admire a tender portrait of the Duchess and her husband, the Principe William, along with their three beautiful children – George, Charlotte and Louis. The shot had been chosen among many others to be used as a profile photo, which indeed it is changed very rarely.

This time, however, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge they replaced the shot for a good reason: it is a small gesture to commemorate the fallen of the First and Second World Wars. In fact, November 11 is celebrated Remembrance Day, while on the previous Sunday (in this case 8 November) numerous ceremonies are held throughout the country on the occasion of Remembrance Sunday.

The current profile picture see Kate e William laying a wreath of poppies during their visit to Manchester in 2016, both dressed in dark as is customary on such occasions. The other members of the Royal Family immediately followed the example of the Dukes of Cambridge, starting with Queen Elizabeth II: Her Majesty’s account now has a beautiful shot of her dressed in black with a red pin on her lapel, during the ceremony held at the Field of Remembrance ofWestminster abbey in 2004.

Clarence House instead he used a photo from 2009. On that occasion, the Prince Charles and Camilla were in Canada, during their royal tour: during the ceremony, the Duke of Cornwall he wore his military uniform, while his wife had a long black coat with the same red pin representing a symbol in honor of war victims.

The Royal family is preparing to celebrate Remembrance Day again this year, albeit in a different form than usual. For the first time, in fact, the ceremony will be closed to the public, to avoid crowds.
