Kabongo Kasongo, the Zamalek striker returning from loan in Wydad Casablanca, said that Al-Ahly negotiated with him while he was a player in the Alexandrian Federation, saying he could return to participate after two games.
Cassongo said in his remarks to the satellite channel “Zamalek”: “Playing for Zamalek was a dream for me, as it is a great team at the level of the African continent and many players wish to play for it.”
Then he answered a question about whether Al-Ahly negotiated it before moving to Zamalek: “I received an offer from Al-Ahly at the same time, but I made up my mind about playing in Zamalek at the end.”
He explained the reason for his decision, saying: “The decision comes from the heart first, at the beginning before you make a decision you must be calm and relaxed, I was watching the Zamalek team and in the end I chose to sign for Zamalek.”
He refused to choose a goal with one eye being the best for him with Zamalek: “All goals are important to me, all games are important, and scoring against opponents is my job that I am working to achieve in the best possible way.”
On his return to Zamalek, he said: “I am happy to return to Zamalek, because I always say that Zamalek is my family, and when I left I told the fans in a recorded video that Zamalek is my home, and now I have returned to it.”
He also explained the date of his participation in the matches: “Up until the present moment, I am trying to restore my physical condition through the exercises that I perform, and I cannot return directly to a big match.
The next match will be for Zamalek against the Angolan Primero de Augusto at the end of the CAF Champions League group stage.
