Kasing: Fresh treatment for Kasinger sports grounds

The terrace is now almost twice as wide as it used to be: Stefan Heisler (left) and Stefan Geisberger, two of the four chairmen of SV Kasing, report on the renovation work around the sports grounds during the Corona period.

Right next to the entrance door of the Kasinger Sportheim there is a photo wall with pictures of the officials. You can immediately see that responsibility in the association is now spread across several shoulders: Stefan Heisler, Stefan Geisberger, Martina Haas and Michael Burzler have jointly formed the board since January 2020. Everyone is the contact person for one or two departments from tennis to fitness gymnastics. “We wanted to start as a completely new team and change a few things,” remembers Geisberger. And then Corona came.

A heavy blow for SV Kasing. “We actually had plans and were euphoric about tackling,” reports Heisler. According to him, clubs have to fight their way through the pandemic: “No lease income, no admissions, no hospitality.” With Christine Müller, the people from Kasingen had just found a new landlady. Instead of convivial rounds in the restaurant and the usual 250 visitors at regional league games, the SV had to record a small decline in membership. “That’s not tragic, but you can tell a trend,” notes Heisler.

The club chairmen did not bury their heads in the sand: While the members kept themselves fit through online training or sports challenges (Geisberger: “The footballers met track and field athletes, that would not have happened before Corona.”), Those responsible followed their motto ” Especially now! “Says Heisler:” We wanted to look to the future. “

The first project – with the market town of Kösching – was a new playground on the edge of the soccer field. “The old one was ailing,” says Geisberger. But the fire protection issue was much more pressing. “That is a huge package,” says Geisberger. In addition to the necessary replacement of the doors and windows in the sports home, there was a sticking point: the missing escape stairs on the existing outdoor terrace. “It’s very popular because it offers a direct view of the field,” says Geisberger, and reveals: “I’ve always wanted to make it wider.” For example, the terrace was extended by a further one and a half meters over its total length of around 25 meters from a width of almost two and a half meters. “Now there is almost double the amount of seating space, which means an additional source of income,” says Geisberger happily.

In the sports home itself, no hands have been laid for a long time, according to the board of directors. According to Heisler, the first ideas for a freshness cure finally turned into “a complete renovation”: new curtains, new covers for chairs and benches, new paintwork, new sound system for events, new cladding for the bar. Above it now hangs a large picture of the footballers who have been promoted to the regional league – “with cult character,” says Heisler. A light installation with the words “My village, my club, my passion” was also installed. “The executive board carried out the interior renovation in its free time, completely Corona-compliant without any other people,” says Heisler. The advantage of the pandemic: no guest was affected during the renovation work. The association was financially supported by a beverages contract partner.

For the exterior renovation, however, SV Kasing took out a loan. “We cannot finance that from the cash register,” admits Heisler. The credit was decent – so that in addition to the extension of the terrace, a ticket booth could also be built, the material booth renovated, the boards with the “loyal sponsors” renewed and the floodlight system with LED lamps modernized. The association also generated grants for the latter.

In the meantime, the chairmen clearly feel how much “the sporty and the social are missing,” says Heisler. The officials want to finally see who they have invested the time and energy for in the modernization, says Geisberger: “We would like to finally make the sports field and the sports home available to the members again.”DK
