Prague, Czech Republic – Oktagon MMA, the leading mixed martial arts promotion in Europe, is launching a new series featuring celebrities training and competing in MMA bouts. The declaration was made by Oktagon co-owner Karlos Vémola, promising a unique blend of familiar faces and intense athletic planning.
Dubbed “Celebrities Series,” the project will involve actors, entertainers, and singers undergoing rigorous training before stepping into the Oktagon. Vémola emphasized the commitment of participants, stating they will “work out as much as possible.” While the full roster remains undisclosed, the initiative aims to attract a broader audience to the sport and provide a platform for celebrities to test their limits.
The series is expected to debut later this year, building on Oktagon’s growing popularity in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as it’s expansion into Germany and other European markets. Oktagon currently holds events in both Prague’s Štvanice arena and across Germany.
This move aligns with a broader trend in combat sports of incorporating celebrity participation, such as Jake Paul’s boxing matches, to generate mainstream interest.Oktagon’s approach, however, focuses on genuine training and competition, rather than one-off exhibition bouts.
