/ Photo = Actor Kang Ki-dung, who played a passionate police officer in SBS’ ‘Cow Next Door 2’ and ‘The Police Station Next to the Fire Station and the National Forensic Service’, expressed his thoughts on the end of the show.

On the 10th, Hunus Entertainment reported a Q&A interview with Kang Ki-dung regarding the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Police Station Next to the Fire Station and the National Forensic Service’ (written by Min Ji-eun, directed by Shin Kyung-soo), which ended on the 9th. The river pillar left a long lasting impression by elegantly depicting Gong Myeong-pil performing his duties with his colleagues after surviving the brink of death.

In particular, Kang Ki-dung’s emotional acting, which he put his all into in the process of tracking down the whereabouts of Jin Ho-gae (Kim Rae-won), who was thought to be dead, was truly excellent. Gong Myung-pil (played by Kang Ki-dung) sensed that Song Seol (played by Gong Seung-yeon) was in danger after meeting the criminal, and expressed his strong emotions, saying, “If Seol met the real criminal, it would be really dangerous.” In addition, Myeong-pil, who visited the criminal’s hideout, was terrified when he stepped on a bomb installed on the floor at the entrance, which made even the viewers nervous.

Kang Ki-dung has shown a high level of synchronization with the character of Gong Myeong-pil, a police officer who treats the case sincerely and struggles to uncover the truth in ‘Blind Country’. Ki-dung Kang perfectly embodies Myung Pil’s eyes, tone of voice, and every action, making the plot even more exciting.

◆ The following is the full text of Ki-dung Kang’s Q&A.

-How do you feel about finishing the drama ‘The Police Station Next to the Fire Station and the National Forensic Service’?

▶I think it took more than a year and half a year. Rather than feeling that something is still real, I think that the story of protecting us continues as I see people working hard for the country at the fire department, police station, National Forensic Service, etc. We also thank them for their hard work and hope that they continue to live safe lives.

-Continuing from last season, various incidents were covered in this season 2 as well. Are there any particularly memorable episodes?

▶Somehow, I remember the episode ‘Mrs Yongsoo-cheol’. I am grateful to the writer and director for turning the stories around us into Myeong Pil’s heart-warming story, and I feel more moved by meeting the most suspects and neighbors (actors who worked hard) in the episode.

-In particular, he showed off his presence by playing a big role as actor Kim Rae-won’s partner. Are there any funny episodes or memorable moments on set?

▶I think I tried to be truthful at every moment within the genre of ‘Blind Country’ with Raewon. So, every day of filming is memorable, and although it may seem a little lacking, I am just grateful that we have chemistry as true partners.

-What kind of work will ‘Blind Country’ be remembered for?

▶It will only be known as time passes, but since it is a work based on the struggles of real-life heroes, I think I was able to develop a more humble attitude about my mindset and attitude toward the work when playing it.

-How do you feel about letting go of the character Gong Myung-pil, who was with you for two seasons?

▶’Pil’ or ‘Myeongpil’ sometimes ‘Maeng Pil!’ Thank you for playing many roles as I have been called by many different names. I hope that he will not get hurt in the future and that he will grow into a detective who solves cases in a pleasant but just manner. I was happy to be with you!

A word to the viewers who watched ‘Blind Country’ until the end.

▶Thank you to the viewers who have loved ‘The Police Station Next to the Fire Station and the National Forensic Service’ so far. The drama ends here, but the story of the heroes who are handling events brilliantly behind the scenes will continue. I hope you have a peaceful and healthy day within their safety net. Taewonseo flying squirrel Maengpil is always by your side!
