The winning goal came in the 88th minute from forward Yuito Ito, but the match was notable for the significantly low attendance at the Planet Group Arena.

The buffalos, as KAA Gent are known, had a goal disallowed earlier in the match, scored by Wilfried Kanga, due to an offside call on Matisse samoise during the build-up play. Samoise,the wing defender,expressed disappointment at the overturned goal but ultimately acknowledged the importance of the win.

“I thoght it would be a very tight contest. It’s a shame the goal was ruled out, as it would have made breaking the deadlock easier,” Samoise stated after the match. He highlighted the team’s fighting spirit and mentality as key factors in securing the three points.

While the game was played during a holiday period and at the relatively late time of 8:45 PM, the low turnout raises questions about fan engagement.
