The whole country is in a green zone in terms of the incidence of coronavirus infection on a two-week basis. This is shown by the data of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.
The incidence is 50 per 100,000 population.
180 clinical samples were analyzed by cellogenomic sequencing. They were taken from patients with COVID-19 in the period April 1 – May 3 and were sent from 23 different hospitals in 17 districts of the country.
The Omicron virus variant and its sub-variants BA.1 and BA.2 were detected in all samples.

470 patients are in hospital, of which 40 – in the intensive care unit.
3 people died due to complications related to the infection. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the victims of the virus are 37,109 Bulgarians.
