Just over 24 hours ago, an unexpected revolution took shape at Juventus: after Maurizio Sarri’s farewell, Andrea Agnelli’s club decided to radically change its address, relying on Andrea Pirlo who was announced as the new coach just a week ago. Under 23 formation, which plays in Serie C. A real bet, also demonstrated by the fact that for 21 years such a young coach had not trained the Old Lady. On 19 September Pirlo will be 41 years and 123 days old. Only Carlo Ancelotti had done better than him, who in February 1999 had coached the bianconeri at 39 years and 249 days.
The main knot was linked to the coach’s license, but this too seems outdated. Pirlo is in fact enrolled in the UEFA Pro course and can therefore sit regularly on the bench, even if the thesis defense in Coverciano is only scheduled for next October. In a bureaucratic way it will therefore be his deputy Roberto Baronio to take on the role of coach.
