Baseball star Justin Verlander and his wife, model Kate Upton, have welcomed their second child. The news broke on Friday afternoon, as the San Francisco Giants placed Verlander on paternity leave.
Baby’s Arrival
TMZ Sports confirmed the birth. A representative for Kate informed the media that Bellamy Brooks Verlander was born on June 19th.

This marks the second child for the couple. Their first, Genevieve Upton Verlander, arrived in November 2018.
A Timeline of Love
The pair first met in 2012 and married in Italy in 2017. This was shortly after Verlander’s team, the Houston Astros, won the World Series. It’s estimated that roughly 4 million babies are born in the U.S. each year (CDC 2024).
