Justice investigates ban on ransom payment by insurers | Inland

Justice is trying to counter the “increasing threat” of ransom attacks. In such an attack, cyber criminals take systems, data or documents hostage. In exchange for access to the system or data, the criminals demand a ransom. In some cases, insurers pay the ransom amount if an insured company has been the victim of a ransom attack.

No decision has yet been made on a possible ban, emphasizes a spokesperson for the ministry.
