Justice – Erfurt – District Court able to work again after moving – Panorama

Erfurt (dpa/th) – The district court in Erfurt is negotiating again after a two-week break. The court has completed the move to alternative quarters, a spokesman said. From Monday, civil and criminal cases would again be decided. Judges and employees have moved their workplace to the former postal check office in Erfurt. Her move was necessary because the traditional building of the district court in Erfurt is to be extensively renovated. It was built between 1874 and 1879.

According to the court spokesman, the judges and employees are probably preparing for around six years at the replacement location. The building in the city center was remodeled for the needs of the court, and courtrooms have been set up. There were also delays due to bottlenecks in the construction trade during the corona pandemic.

According to the spokesman, almost 40 judges work at the district court. Including the staff, the court employs about 100 people.
