FC Twente announced an outgoing transfer just before the home game with Ajax. Lindon Selahi will exchange the Tukkers for Willem II.
This has been confirmed by technical director Jan Streuer TC/Tubantia. The 21-year-old Waal with the Albanian football nationality is in his second season in Enschede, after he was picked up at Standard Liège in 2019. In his debut year he was still a fixture in the FC Twente midfield, but after the arrival of trainer Ron Jans, Selahi ended up on the second plan. This season he only played 59 Eredivisieminutes.
Now he is temporarily leaving for Tilburg. It is not yet clear whether Willem II will be able to take over the 21-year-old inspector after that. Selahi is by no means the only player to leave Enschede during the winter transfer period. Mercenaries Lazaros Lamprou (PAOK Saloniki), Halil Dervisoglu (Brentford FC) and Alexander Jeremejeff (Dynamo Dresden) returned to their employer earlier than planned. This was offset by the arrival of Issah Abass (FSV Mainz 05, also rented).
Jan Streuer confirms Selahi departure. Willem II new club, more later.
