Just a moment and it’s all over: a millionaire’s worth car destroyed forever

It took literally seconds to condemn to destruction this beautiful vintage supercar very famous among movie buffs for an almost obvious reason. There is no way to save or repair it.

When a supercar suffers a very serious accident, after making sure that the driver and any passers-by or other motorists are naturally well, enthusiasts immediately worry about a pressing issue. Can the car be recovered? Sometimes, a repair is not possible as in this case where a wrong move it was enough to completely wreak havoc on a real heirloom.

Watch where you go!

Driving paying close attention to the road, other cars and pedestrians is essential in any case to avoid hurting yourself e to the others but even more if you are driving a vintage car of inestimable value not only for any dealers and collectors but precisely at the historical level. It is now undeniable even by the most cynical denigrators of our passion for engines that certain cars are true vintage memorabilia.

Nobody would enter a contemporary art museum destroying a work, it would be a crime: then, the same care must be exercised towards certain models which also have half a century of history behind them, metaphorically speaking, and which are historical documents of a past that will never return and which, not by chance, are approved in Italy as a classic car and are subject to reduced taxes.

Priceless rarity

Built in approx a thousand specimens from 1963 to 1965 – for just two years then – the legendary Aston Martin DB5 coupe remains one of the most famous cars in the world, thanks to the James Bond saga 007 in which the car appeared for the first time in 1964 with all the necessary gadgets on board. However, the car is much more than a tinsel for lovers of modern cinema.

Building on the existing DB4 Vantage line, the Aston Martin DB5 in its typical silver livery it represented the peak of the technology of the time: equipped with a 282 horsepower engine made of super light alloy to reduce weight, the car was fitted as standard with many options that were not at all common at the time such as electronic direction indicators , Blaupunkt radio and electrically operated windshield wipers. A real supercar, not much to say.

Destroyed forever

When a car like this is involved in an accident… it’s a bad thing to say, but enthusiasts care more about the car than the driver! The person driving the car in the photo thank goodness she didn’t get hurt even if he would have deserved at least a pinch for having totally destroyed a rare and sought-after car like the DB5: nothing to do, the mechanics were unable to do anything to recover the car, which was destroyed beyond any possible repair.

We need a moment. Suddenly we are all very sad… (MondoFuoristrada.it)

This incident happened in 2015 in Manchester with no one being never really succeeded to reconstruct the dynamics of the facts: we only know that the driver of the Aston Martin lost control along the M56, state road that leads to the airport of the British town, hitting a Vauxhall Astra – version produced only in the United Kingdom of the European Opel Astra – to then crash into a pole knocking it down.

The delicate bodywork of the car, no longer up to modern safety standards, could not withstand the disastrous impact and you can see the result above in the photo. The cost of this “trick” is estimated at between 2 and 3.3 million Euros, a considerable figure that far exceeds the damage done to the infrastructure by the machine. No wayin this case there is no restoration that holds.
