Jungfrau Zeitung – Taxes will be raised

The city council wanted to raise taxes by a tenth – the city meeting only approved a half-tenth increase.

According to a communication from the municipality, the city council asked the municipal assembly to increase the tax regime by one tenth of the tax to 1.75 units. However, one voter has called for the tax system to be raised by just half a tenth to 1.70 units. The municipal assembly followed it with a clear majority. Therefore, the excess expense in the overall budget for the following year amounts to CHF 1,110 million.

0.5% inflation adjustment.

With reference to the cantonal resolution, the municipal council granted employees of the municipality of Unterseen a general inflation allowance of 0.5% from 1 January 2023. It also provides for a 1.5% increase in the wage bill total for individual salary increases in 2023 in accordance with cantonal provisions.

Five-year ticket for the population

From 1 January 2023, the residents of Unterseen will have five day tickets available for CHF 45 per day and a ticket that can be booked, ordered and obtained at least one month in advance.

  • The city council approved the renovation of the main sewer network in the perimeter of Stadtfeldstrasse, Steindlerstrasse and Schulhausstrasse and approved the requested investment loan of CHF 80’000. The sewer rehabilitation works are carried out by KFS Kanal-Service AG from Oensingen.
  • The company Mätzener und Wyss Bauingenieure AG from Interlaken was commissioned with the engineering work for the subprojects for the redesign of the bus stop edge and road space in the Beatenbergstrasse area.
  • The Pistol Shooting Club in and around Interlaken has been promised a one-off contribution of 500 francs for the renovation of the bullet trap at the Aenderberg stand in Bönigen in 2023.
