The Swiss Working Group for Mountain Regions (SAB) and Swiss Mountain Aid have been awarding the Montagne Prize since 2011. With this award, the two organizations honor projects that contribute directly to value creation and job development or to economic diversity in the mountain area. Projects with a model character that have proven themselves over at least three years can be submitted. In the past ten years, 63 projects from all of Switzerland’s language regions have been nominated. “Since the launch, we have met numerous inspiring entrepreneurs from all sectors,” says ex-ski racer and jury president Bernhard Russi. “The quality and diversity of the nominated projects bear witness to the great economic vitality in our mountains year after year.”
