July will be average in temperature, it will rain more in the first half

July will be rather average in temperature and it will rain more in its first half. This follows from the weather forecast for the next four weeks, which was published by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) on Friday. According to the weekly forecast, the end of next week will be especially warm, when temperatures should rise to 29 degrees Celsius.

“Weekly averages of the highest daily temperatures in the first week of the forecast (June 29 to July 5) will be between 22 and 25 degrees, in the next three weeks we expect them from 23 to 27 degrees,” meteorologists said. The long-term average temperature in the Czech Republic in the period between June 29 and July 26 is 18.4 degrees Celsius.

After the coming weekend, when temperatures should exceed the tropical thirties, it will cool down on Monday, there will also be showers and occasionally strong thunderstorms. Gradually, however, it is expected to warm up next week, and from Friday to Sunday the highest daily temperatures should be 24 to 29 degrees. But there will still be showers and thunderstorms.

“In terms of precipitation, we expect the first two weeks of the forecast (June 29 to July 12) to be slightly above average, and the third and fourth weeks of the forecast (July 13 to July 26) to be average,” said CHMI. The long-term average total precipitation in this period is 81 millimeters. It was especially rainy in July 1997, when the total was 203 millimeters. On the contrary, in 2013 it was only 15 millimeters.

The monthly outlook expresses the overall nature of the weather, therefore it does not cover all possible fluctuations, warns the CHMI. The success of the outlook is around 75 percent at temperatures and around 65 percent at precipitation. The forecast for the third and fourth weeks is often close to the long-term climatic values for the respective periods.
