Julius Randle extended for four years with the New York Knicks

Julian Randle has signed a new four-year contract with the New York Knicks. That’s what his agents Aaron Mintz and Steven Heumann from CAA Sports have to say ESPN confirmed.

The deal is worth $ 117 million to Randle, bringing the total five-year contract to a total of $ 140 million. He also has a player option for his final year of contract (2025-26).

Randle could have waited until next summer and signed a new $ 200 million contract, but extending his current $ 19.8 million contract for the 2021-22 season gives the Knicks more financial flexibility.

Randle had the best year of his career last season, leading New York to fourth place in the East for their first playoff participation since 2013 and at the end of the season won the 6th Man of the Year award.

Randle, who has played in the Big Apple since 2018, put on 24.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists at 45.6 percent from the field and 41.1 percent from downtown.
