Julien Courbet plays business angels on M6

The host of “Capital” takes control of a program with an original concept, broadcast Tuesday January 14 at 9:05 pm on M6, where entrepreneurs must seduce investors.

“Today, more than ever, we must tell the new generations that anything is possible. “Who wants to be my partner?” Is a breath of fresh air, even if at first I was skeptical. The first recordings were enough to convince me. ”

Julien Courbet, who will be at the helm, is full of praise for this new kind of show, to be seen on M6. An unprecedented challenge for the chain chaired by Nicolas de Tavernost, who is also very enthusiastic: “We have the same excitement as when we launched the show” Capital “. Nobody believed in it at the time! The first issue didn’t work at all and it took a month for the magazine to find its audience “. Also focused on the economy, will this show find its audience in the age of video on demand platforms? “It’s a bet and it’s assumed,” continues the boss of M6. Even if we put all the ingredients to make it work, launching an entrepreneurship program is a big risk, although today the real risk is not to take it. And then it’s a show that I really like because the jury pays for it, after all! ” (Laughter.)

The concept of “Who wants to be my partner?”, Adapted from a Japanese format (Money Tigers) and which has met with success across 40 countries, is quite simple: “Candidate entrepreneurs talk about their products or innovations to a jury of investors by indicating the amount of funds they wish to raise in exchange for a percentage of the capital of their start-up, specifies Julien Courbet. It’s a TV show, of course, but it’s real: real entrepreneurs, real investors and real money ”. Among these entrepreneurs, some may obtain investments from all or part of the jury, while others do not. But all leave with advice to develop their business. “We have selected entrepreneurs of all types by ensuring that they offer products, services or innovations affecting the real economy,” adds Julien Courbet. “That’s what I liked about this show because, at a time when we talk a lot about tech start-ups, we must not forget these entrepreneurs who offer services for everyday life.”

At the helm of “Who wants to be my partner?”, Julien Courbet has an air of Nikos Aliagas so “The Voice”. “I quickly present the entrepreneurs and their projects so that viewers can get attached to them. Then I open the door for them and they enter the arena. “ An arena well supplied because M6 saw things in a big way jury. We find there Marc Simoncini (Meetic) Éric Larchevêque (Ledger), Frédéric Mazzella (BlaBlaCar), Catherine Barba (Cashstore), Delphine André (CEO of the Charles André Transports group) and Marc Vanhove (Regent Bistro). It remains to be seen whether viewers will be ready to hear about money, a subject still taboo in France.
