Judge-Registrars Netted OTT KPK in Surabaya, Allegedly Related to Case Handling

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Corruption Eradication Commission (NCP) held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Surabaya, East Java.

According to the statement of Acting KPK Spokesperson Ali Fikri, the arrest was made on a clerk, lawyer, and hakim at the Surabaya District Court (PN).

“He is suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption in giving and receiving money related to the handling of cases,” said Ali in a written statement, Thursday (20/1/2022).

Currently, Ali continued, the KPK is still investigating the information on the three.

Ali emphasized that within 1×24 hours the KPK would determine its position regarding the arrest.

“Within 1 x 24 hours, the KPK will immediately determine its position on the results of the arrest. The progress will be conveyed,” concluded Ali.

On the other hand, the spokesman for the Supreme Court (MA) Andi Samsan Nganro confirmed the news.

Andi revealed that the KPK came to the Surabaya District Court between 05.00 and 05.30 WIB.

According to Andi, a judge named Itong Isnaeni Hidayat and a substitute clerk named Hamdan have been secured by the KPK.

“(KPK) immediately sealed the judge’s room and after that he left,” he said.
