Unbelievable ! The Chartres club which plays in National 2 football will be coached next season by a Ballon d’Or. Jean-Pierre Papin has indeed given his agreement to Gérard Soler, the president of C’Chartres Football, as he confirmed to L’Echo Républicain.
In an interview with the regional daily, the man who made one of the best strikers in the 90s, crowned France Football 91 Golden Ball, confirmed that he wanted to take up the challenge of taking the Chartrain club to the next level. At 56, it was a new challenge for the center-forward which made the heyday of OM (86-92), Milan AC (92-94) and Bayern Munich (94-96) before conclude his playing career in Bordeaux and Guingamp.
Jean-Pierre Papin, 56, will replace the former Lensois Jean-Guy Wallemme. He signed for a year and two more if he reached the next level. The last club he coached was that of Arcachon in 2014-2015. Jean-Pierre Papin has also been a consultant for BeIn Sport since 2012.
