Jokowi Reveals the Meaning of Traditional Clothes Worn During the 75th Anniversary of RI. Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo revealed the meaning custom clothing which he wore in the commemoration of the seconds of the proclamation in commemoration HUT ke-75 RI at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (17/8/2020).

In the ceremony earlier, Jokowi wearing typical clothes from South Central Timor, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

“This outfit is in the form of a woven cloth with Kaif Nunkolo chain motif,” said Jokowi, through his official Instagram account, Monday night.

“The motif is modified from a rhombus shape with a middle stem which means a water source. The jagged edges symbolize a hilly and winding area,” said Jokowi.

He added that the red color in the shirt symbolized the courage of the man Nunkolo.

“As well as various accessories that add to the beauty of this woven fabric, including the betel nut bag that is draped on the side. Eating betel nut is a culture of unity, it also symbolizes love and respect,” said the President.

Meanwhile, the commemoration of Indonesia’s 75th Anniversary this time looks different from before. This time, the ceremony was simpler.

In this ceremony, only three members of the 2020 National Paskibraka were assigned to fly the Red and White.

Indrian Puspita Rahmadhani from Aceh Province was chosen as the bearer of the Red and White flag.

Born in Bireuen, 10 November 2003, Indrian is currently studying at SMAN 1 Bireuen.

Two other people from the team who will fly the Red and White flag are Muhammad Adzan from West Nusa Tenggara Province.

Adzan served as the group commander as well as the flag bearer.

Then I Gusti Agung Bagus Kade Sanggra Wira Adhinata from Bali Province who served as a flag hoist.

Colonel Inf. Muhammad Imam Gogor, AA was appointed as Commander of the Commemoration Ceremony of the Seconds of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

As for acting as Ceremony Officer is Brigadier General TNI Syafruddin SE, MM, MTr (Han).

President Jokowi inaugurated the 2020 Paskibraka on duty today on Thursday, 13 August 2020, at the State Palace.
