Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (UN) Yusril Ihza Mahendra recounted his communication with the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno ahead of the reshuffle reshuffle Advanced Indonesian Cabinet.
On Tuesday (14/6) night, Yusril suddenly received a call from Pratikno. At the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Pratikno reported on the cabinet reshuffle that would be held the next day. At that time, Yusril was abroad.
Jokowi through Pratikno asked Yusril about the UN Secretary General Afriansyah Noor who was proposed as deputy minister.
“The Minister of State Secretary at the direction of the President communicated with me. The President asked about the UN proposal for Pak Ferry [Afriansyah Noor] become Deputy Minister,” said Yusril to CNNIndonesia.comWednesday (15/6).
Hearing Pratikno’s question, Yusril firmly said that there was no change. He said Afriansyah deserved to fill the position.
“[Pratikno] Asking if there are any changes? I said no,” he said.
Hearing the news, Yusril then thanked Jokowi because his cadres were trusted to join the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. He said Afriansyah had been busy managing the party lately.
“So far, Pak Ferry, who has served as Secretary General of the United Nations, has been busy managing the party day and night. I think Pak Ferry deserves the position, as a mandate, of course,” he said.
Yusril then advised UN cadres to help Jokowi’s government. Moreover, currently there are many difficult tasks awaiting the government.
“The United Nations must help the government. I thank the president for this trust,” he said.
Today, Jokowi has appointed Afriansyah Noor as Deputy Minister of Manpower.
On the same occasion, PSI Advisory Board Secretary Raja Juli Antoni was also inaugurated as Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN. Meanwhile, John Wempi Watipo is the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.
Jokowi also appointed the General Chair of PAN Zulkifli Hasan as Trade Minister replacing Muhammad Lutfi. Meanwhile Marshal (Retired) Hadi Tjahjanto was appointed as Minister of ATR/BPN replacing Sofyan Djalil.
