Jokowi Blusukan Among the Ruins of the Ukrainian City of Irpin: Very Sad

President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed his sadness after he visited the Lipky Apartment complex in Irpin City, UkraineWednesday (29/6).

“It is very sad, many houses were damaged and infrastructure was also damaged,” said Jokowi in a press release from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat.

Not only that, Jokowi also expressed a call for no more cities in Ukraine to be damaged by war.

“We hope that there will be no more cities damaged in Ukraine due to war,” he continued.

In addition, Jokowi said his visit to the region was accompanied by Mayor Irpin Alexander Grigorovich Markushi.

“I was accompanied by the Mayor of Irpin and the Deputy Mayor of Irpin to see the damage that had occurred in Irpin City due to the war,” said Jokowi.

Meanwhile, Jokowi visited Irpin City with first lady Iriana Jokowi, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

After visiting Irpin, Jokowi is scheduled to visit the Ukrainian Center for Endocrine Science and Surgery, Organ Transplant and Endocrine Tissue in Kyiv.

It was only in the afternoon that Jokowi would meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
