Johnny Depp, videos would clear him of Amber Heard’s accusations

Johnny Depp’s judicial odyssey it seems to have reached a turning point for the actor, who could be cleared of the accusations of ex-wife Amber Heard. In fact, his lawyers have come into possession of some Los Ageles police videos denying the complaints of domestic violence of the actress, following a heated argument in 2016.

Theirs was a long legal battle, which saw the two ex-spouses clash with no holds barred. Heard in fact, after only 15 months of marriage, filed for divorce from Depp arguing of having suffered physical violence when he was drunk. The couple officially separated in January 2017, but in 2019 the actor accused the ex-wife of adultery and defamation, filing a complaint and demanding a total compensation of 50 million dollars.

Johnny Depp, however, found himself losing two cases: the first against Heard, and then against Sun, who in 2018, commenting on the story, had defined him as a “female thug”. Following the controversy arising from the accusations of the ex-wife, the actor had also been excluded from the third installment of the saga of Fantastic Beasts, where he played the role of Gellert Grindelwald.

A few months ago the actor, through his lawyers, had decided to take back the defamation lawsuit filed (and lost) against the Sun. After a long debate, the judges had decided to exonerate the tabloid, confirming that do not grant the appeal to Depp: “It is a victory for freedom of the press and for victims of domestic violence everywhere”, explained the lawyer of the Sun.

Depp for his part had commented on the verdict, judging it unfair and above all influenced by Heard’s testimonies, accused of having promised to give the divorce money to charity but then not do it.

Today, to the intricate judicial affair, adds another piece: according to what was reported by the star’s lawyers, some new videos, filmed by the bodycam of the Los Angeles police officers who answered the 911 call, would deny the whole story told by the actress.

Heard had in fact said that during the violent fight, she had been hit in the face by Depp with a phone, tearing off some wisps of hair and leaving chaos in the kitchen. However, the footage of the couple of agents arriving at the scene would prove otherwise. Depp’s attorney said, “Amber Heard and her friends described a chaotic and messy crime scene, but the newly released LAPD bodycam videos unequivocally show that the penthouse was completely intact and that their testimony was another great lie“.
