Johnny Depp awarded at the Polish festival. Foreign Internet users: “An award from a country where WOMEN ARE CRIMINED!”

After a two-year court battle between Johnny Depp a Amber Heard the sentence was unfavorable for the actor. The court sided with Amber, who presented evidence that the star he hit her at least a dozen times.

Depp’s career was in ruins. After losing a trial Warner Bros. studio ended their cooperation with him immediately.

Currently there is “persona non grata” at Hollywood Depp. Meanwhile, in Poland, he can still count on sympathy and recognition. At the EnergaCamerimage 2020 festival to Johnny granted a special award for “Special Visual Sensitivity”.

In thanks Depp he sent the festival organizers a photo with the statuette, the Golden Frog, with which he photographed himself … behind bars, clearly showing that he has distance to the court’s decision.

The fact that the actor was awarded in Poland echoed in the global media. On the website’s Facebook profile 9GAG a storm broke out. Many Internet users believe that Johnny deserved a statuette because he is a great actor, and besides “he has been through a lot lately”. Some write that “this award will not erase his file anyway.” Still others see this distinction the second bottom related to … the current situation of women in Poland.

Good for him. But can we take seriously an award given in a country where female abuse is the order of the day, and the Polish government and international organizations remain indifferent to it?
