Diageo explained that its bottles will be produced by pressing pulp into molds and will subsequently be cured in microwave ovens. Inside the bottles will be stretched coatings that are designed not to react with the beverages they will contain.

Many cartons made of beams inside a plastic layer that prevents the drink from breaking. Diageo stated that her drink bottles can be eaten completely without a plastic coating.

Beer and pepper

Beverage companies develop papermaking bottles in an effort to reduce dirt from plastic. Food and companies have put increasing pressure on the size of plastic packaging, because consumers are much less indifferent to the environment.

Therefore, Diageo is not the only company that tries to take customers with its environmentally friendly approach. The company Carlsberg is in the series. Beer makers develop pepper beer bottles. The British company Frugalpac produces wicker bottles, which are made from recycled paper with a food insert.

Spolenost Frugalpac stated that the 75 cl bottle is not easy to glaze and thus has a more carbon footprint than the bottle made of recycled plastic. Coca-Cola said in January that disposable plastic bottles would not disappear because consumers still wanted them.

According to ING analysts, in 2018, 8.2 million tonnes of plastic were consumed in Europe for food and beverage packaging. Diageo, which produces Guinness and Smirnoff vodka, said it used less than 5 percent plastic in its total packaging. Together with Unilever and PepsiCo, it has set itself the goal of recycling and recycling plastics under the United Nations Sustainable Development Program until 2025.
