John Cena‘s Farewell Match Location Changed to Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON,D.C. – Plans for john Cena’s final WWE match have shifted, wiht the event now scheduled to take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on December 13th, according to reports from PWInsider.com and WrestleVotes. This marks a change from previous expectations that Cena’s last match would be held in his home state of Massachusetts.
The relocation represents a important alteration to long-held plans for Cena’s retirement. While WWE recently confirmed final appearances for Cena in Boston and New York City on november 10th and 17th respectively, the December 13th ”Saturday Night’s Main Event” special will now serve as the site of his in-ring farewell. Cena’s father had previously indicated a Boston farewell was in the works, and initial reports had pegged the december event for Boston’s TD Garden. the reason for the change in venue remains unknown.
Cena’s 2025 “retirement tour” has been a central storyline in WWE, culminating in a 17th World Championship win, a temporary heel turn, and a subsequent return to his fan-favorite babyface role.He is currently engaged in a feud with Brock Lesnar.
