From Wednesday, August 20, to Friday, August 29, visitors to the Classic TT can revisit this iconic moment with the Joey Dunlop Pop-Up Exhibition and Cinema. The exhibition is open daily during the event.
Located within the Mercury Club, near the TT Grandstand, the exhibition immerses attendees in the story of that historic week. Dunlop’s winning machines are the focal point, alongside his signature yellow helmet, racing leathers, trophies, and personal artifacts-including paddock passes and an unopened bottle of champagne from the Ultra Lightweight Race-that capture the essence of the man and his achievements. His race transporter is also on display.
The exhibition also features the leathers and helmets worn by fellow 2000 podium finishers John McGuinness MBE and michael Rutter, highlighting the competitive spirit and mutual respect among the era’s top riders.

On Thursday, August 28, a special live recording of The TT Podcast will take place within the exhibit, featuring guests who witnessed Dunlop’s 2000 triumph. The celebrations will culminate in a poignant tribute lap by Michael Dunlop MBE, riding a replica Honda SP1 and wearing replica leathers and helmet, recreating a defining moment in TT history.
