By Le Figaro with AFP

Former Vice President Joe Biden won the Illinois Democratic primary on Tuesday, according to US media projections, further widening his lead over socialist rival Bernie Sanders in a poll disrupted by the coronavirus.

The moderate candidate, also victorious in Florida, won a majority of the 155 delegates at stake in this industrial state in the northeast of the United States, which includes Chicago, the third largest city in the country.

Residents of Arizona (west) were also called to the polls on Tuesday to choose Donald Trump’s opponent for the November 3 presidential election.
