Job Opening: Coordinator of Public Domain Management in the Ambitious City of Villeurbanne

The City of Villeurbanne, 2nd city of the Rhône (69), 150,000 inhabitants has embarked on an ambitious dynamic of transitions with the challenges of a hospitable city, more ecological and sustainable, easy to live with, inclusive, creative, collaborative, citizen and innovative.

The head of the living environment unit will be assigned to the public and natural spaces department, which brings together the professions relating to the development and management of public space. It is also the interlocutor of the various services of the Metropolis of Lyon both for questions of development and the interfaces of proximity of urban trades. This department, made up of around 130 agents, includes 5 departments, including the public domain management department to which you will be attached.

Under the responsibility of the head of the public domain management department, you will have the following missions:
– to organize and coordinate the activity of the living environment unit;
– to guarantee the quality of the living environment in the public space in line with the expectations of users and elected officials;
– coordinate local actions and interventions.

Missions :

Plan and coordinate the action of the agents of the unit
Guarantee the proper functioning of the management of citizen relations in the living environment
Ensure that complaints are handled and guarantee an appropriate response to users
Support the officers of the unit for the construction of appropriate technical advice
Facilitate and coordinate the mechanisms for monitoring and improving the living environment in the territory (monthly interdepartmental meeting, cleanliness quality agreement, general statements of the living environment, etc.)
Make the link and bring the city’s requests to the departments concerned (internal, Métropole de Lyon, donors, companies, etc.) by improving the Villeurbannais living environment
Participate in meetings with residents or associations organized by the mayor’s office dealing with issues related to the living environment
Take charge of the organization of service events (cleanliness, European week for waste reduction, general living environment)
Set up and/or participate in the various service and management bodies that allow the proper circulation of information and the proper coordination of actions
Establish and monitor public contracts relating to the unit’s missions (tag, canisite, sanisettes, etc.) and their budget execution in conjunction with the department manager and the citizen relationship management referent
Monitor the city’s agenda to anticipate requests for cleanliness and security in the public domain in anticipation of certain events
Be a squat and homelessness referent for the management of public and natural spaces (participation in monitoring cells)
Maintain unit activity dashboards and participate in their development
