During the LIX Ordinary Meeting of the National Conference of Governors (CONAGO), The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and the president of this organization and governor of San Luis Potosí, Juan Manuel Carreras López, stressed that with a spirit of unity and in the interest of the nation, dialogue is conducted and substantive issues on the national agenda, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects in the country.

At a press conference, the Secretary of the Interior, Olga Sánchez Cordero, acknowledged the efforts of Carreras López to set up this meeting, which gave the opportunity to analyze the national panorama and deal with the health, economic, social and human conditions that were the result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He shared the instruction of President López Obrador, regarding deliver federal contributions to the states without delays, integrate infrastructure projects, reinforce the health system with the injection of resources, free medicines and vaccines at the time, as well as maintaining support for the most vulnerable population.
Resources to federal programs
Sanchez Cordero added that Resources will be allocated to federal programs, especially for older adults, scholarships for “Young People Building the Future” and people with disabilities, which will help boost consumption.
At the meeting held at the Convention Center, it was agreed between the federation and CONAGO that work will begin immediately within the Permanent Commission of Fiscal Officials, with the fundamental objective of continuing to strengthen the federal pact and state public finances to trace a route, in coordination with the Government of Mexico, towards a national tax convention for the review of the current mechanism for distribution of shares.
CONAGO attends health emergency
