Jiřina Fikejzová, lyricist Rottrová and Gotta died

Jiřina Fikejzová was born in 1927 in Lom u Mostu. She studied psychology and sociology at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague and also played the violin and piano. During the fifties, she did a lot of sports, but music won out.

She worked as a playwright at the Supraphon music publishing house and wrote lyrics. In total, she has more than two hundred song lyrics, she has worked for the Prague Music Theater as well as for Czechoslovak Television and Czechoslovak Radio. She has received a number of domestic awards for her lyrical work.

She also sat on various juries of music festivals (Intertalent, Porta, Golden Mace, Sopot).

In their time, the famous hits included, for example, the songs Little Car (Judita Čeřovská),
Seven stagecoaches (Waldemar Matuška), Dominika (Judita Čeřovská), Tell me where the flowers are (Judita Čeřovská), How little time can do (Marie Rottrová), Markétka (Marie Rottrová) and I love it so (Marie Rottrová).

Singer Petra Janů sang her lyrics Let Me Go On and Karel Gott the lesser-known song E 14.
