Jim Ross Re-Signs with AEW on One-Year Deal
Legendary announcer Jim Ross has extended his tenure with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), agreeing to a new one-year contract with the promotion. The deal, reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, includes a limited schedule of dates for the WWE Hall of Famer.
Ross initially joined AEW in 2019, signing a three-year agreement and serving as a key member of the promotion’s original broadcast team. Throughout his time with AEW, Ross has publicly expressed his satisfaction with working for the company and praised AEW CEO Tony Khan’s treatment of him.Despite recent health challenges, including battles with cancer and hip replacement surgery,Ross returned to commentary at AEW’s All In event, calling the final two matches of the pay-per-view.Prior to re-signing, speculation arose regarding a potential return to WWE, fueled by Ross’s own comments about finishing his career there. However, the new agreement confirms Ross’s commitment to remaining with AEW, though his appearances will be dictated by his ongoing health considerations. Khan previously described Ross as an “indispensable” part of AEW and expressed hope for his continued contributions to the promotion’s programming.
