Actor Jim Carrey, 58, spoke about the fear and gratitude he felt during the false rocket alarm in Hawaii in 2018. “My assistant Linda called me tearfully and told me I had ten minutes,” Carrey said in an interview with US talk show host Jimmy Fallon. “It was completely real to us,” said Carrey.
He tried to get off the island with his daughter, but it didn’t work. Then he went to the beach to spend his last moments overlooking the ocean. “At that point I started to say, okay, what can I do with this last moment? I just decided to go through a list of gratitude and honestly, I just couldn’t stop thinking about the wonderful things that happened to me. ”How did he react when the missile alert turned out to be false? “I got mad and heads rolled,” Carrey joked.
The EMA of the US state of Hawaii sent text messages to the population in January 2018, warning of a missile that was approaching Hawaii. This announcement was withdrawn a short time later. North Korea had previously tested an ICBM and said it could attack the entire US mainland with nuclear warheads.
