JetBlue has just received its first Airbus A321LR which will be placed between Boston and London this year. The airline is doing its own thing before taking delivery of its Airbus A321XLRs.
JetBlue has chosen 138 seat capacity for its Airbus A321LR
JetBlue has just received the first of its 13 Airbus A321LRs taken in April 2019 from the A321neo “package” already ordered. The American airline thus joins other carriers which also had the choice of this LR version for “Long Range” of the A321neo: SAS, TAP Portugal, Air Transat, Air Arabia, Air Astana, Aer Lingus, Gulf Air. The pandemic has shaken up flight programs and delivery schedules but the end of the crisis is starting to show its way and the A321LR with its capacity to transport more 206 passengers over 7,400 km is shaping up to be the ideal module in context. JetBlue has chosen an arrangement for only 138 passengers.
The least dense passenger cabin
Enough to offer maximum comfort to passengers in its “Mint” Business class who will benefit from real “private suites” until now reserved for twin-aisle or two-aisle planes (type A330neo / A350). JetBlue has placed 24 in its A321LR. However, the 114 passengers in the Economy class are not forgotten with a spacing between seats of 38 inch (the most curious will transform into cm / editor’s note) and on four rows the spacing will even rise to 43 cm. What to compete with airlines such as United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines but also large Europeans. JetBlue’s A321LRs will have the least dense passenger cabin just ahead of SAS and its 157 passengers split into three classes.
While waiting for the A321XLR
The American airline is therefore getting the hang of it while waiting for the arrival of its 13 Airbus A321XLRs, also ordered in 13 units in June 2019, again taken from the A321neo already ordered. With the key to the service of longer roads since the passable distance takes 1,100 km more.
