I was therefore convinced that, with some good will and perseverance, I should be considered capable of completing the tour of 60 performances in 5 months ”, he added.

Although I am recovering somewhat, with a strict diet and an extremely austere lifestyle, that relapse has made a few things clear to me. One of those things is that I cannot assume that I can complete my theater tour. ”

I therefore had to decide, with pain in my heart, to cancel all performances for the coming season ”, said van Merwijk.
