Screams of ‘freedom’ came from the mouth of I Wayan Arjono, the father of I Gede Ari Astina alias Jerinx, at the Bali Police before testifying to the media, Friday (14/8).
He came to the Bali Regional Police to support his son who was detained for a case of hate speech against the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI).
“I have come to support my son (Jerinx). My wife, nephew and others will definitely support us. We citizens must obey the law. We are the children of fighters in the family,” said Arjono.
The man who currently serves as a member of the Gianyar Regency DPRD hopes that law enforcement will run fairly and honestly with anyone. He also hopes that Jerinx will stay healthy while in the detention cell.
“We respect the legal process. The family is also responsible, we are also children of war, but it’s not like we want war. No, hopefully he will stay healthy,” said Arjono.
He does not object to Jerinx’s views on matters relating to the Covid-19 pandemic. Arjono said that his family carried the principles of democracy and responsibility.
“If that’s the best according to him, go ahead, the important thing is to be responsible, right?” Said Arjono.

Jerinx became a suspect in the case of defamation and hate speech ‘WHO lackeys IDI’ posted on his Instagram account @jrxsid.

Jerinx Law Enforcement Officer, I Wayan Gendo questioned the article used to trap his client. In this case, the police caught Jerinx with article 28 paragraph (2) jo article 45A paragraph (2) of the ITE Act.
