Actress Jennifer López would arrive this week in the Dominican Republic to shoot a movie, which was not determined, although in recent days there was talk that she would film “Shotgun Wedding” here, sources informed Listín Diario.
In mid-January, Lionsgate Studios had reported that filming was rescheduled to begin in several weeks, after postponing it after actor Armie Hammer (co-star of “Shotgun Wedding”) became embroiled in a controversy over messages on social networks, accused by several women of sexual cannibalism.
A spokesperson for the production told the Hollywood Reporter that “given the imminent start date of Shotgun Wedding, Armie has asked to stay away from the film and we support him in his decision.”
The action comedy, directed by Jason Moore, who hosted “Pitch Perfect,” is about a couple as they gather their families for a destination wedding, and takes the guests hostage.
At the moment Listín Diario could not determine the exact day of his arrival or the locations that will be used for filming.
The entertainment section “Page Six” of the New York Post tabloid reported that actor Ryan Reynolds will replace Hammer on the set.
The film will be distributed in the United States by Lionsgate, and in December 2020 it was sold internationally to Amazon Prime.
