Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is said to have made his home in Hawaii. There is speculation about the price.
Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez apparently indulged in a home in the Pacific paradise: The new domicile is said to be on the Hawaiian island of Maui – in a remote region in the south of the island, reports BusinessInsider with reference to the local portal Pacific Business News .
“Jeff and Lauren love Maui, have a home on the island, visit it frequently and want to support the local community,” an unspecified person from the couple’s circle is quoted as saying.
Bezos distributes donations to local organizations
This support of the region referred to relates to donations that Bezos had made to local organizations in recent weeks: In addition to a donation to the non-profit organization “Friends of the Children’s Justice Center”, which helps abused or neglected children, he also said “Maui Farm ”provide financial assistance. The organization therefore offers accommodation to women as well as children who have been affected by abuse or homelessness.
In addition, donations were made to the nature conservation organization Hawaii Land Trust and an anti-drug program for affected women. How much money Jeff Bezos put into the regional projects as donations is not known.
The purchase price should be just under $ 80 million
The fact that Bezos, as the second richest person in the world, is fundamentally willing to invest a lot of money in real estate, is shown by his 175 million dollar mansion in Beverly Hills and his 23 million house in the capital Washington, DC, it is said.
How expensive the new property in Hawaii was is uncertain. However, there is speculation: For example, BossHunting reports that Bezos is said to have put around 78 million US dollars on the table for the home. It therefore covers an area of around 4,500 square meters, has a guest house and is in the classic Hawaiian low-rise style.
“The property also has a white, sand-covered private beach, a 700-square-meter pool and is surrounded by lush bushland and a special feature that you will not find on any other property: cooled lava fields,” it continues. It seems that Hawaii is not only Bezos who are fond of Hawaii. Other well-known celebrities such as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg or TV icon Oprah already have land in Hawaii.
