The well-known manufacturer of SUVs and off-road vehicles has finally introduced its flagship models, which faithfully follow the previously revealed concept. In addition, customers can look forward to two V8 engines and exclusive dealer access.

The arrival of the new flagship Jeep, which was to become the Wagoneer model, has been talked about for many years. Only last year, however, the carmaker finally introduced the official concept, which this year was followed by the unveiling of production models. The great news is that we find only a minimal difference between the concept and the production cars.
At the outset, however, it is probably appropriate to explain the difference between them. Both models sit on a frame construction and both face the premium construction, but differ significantly in motorization and equipment. The cheaper Wagoneer should thus compete for the favor of customers, for example with more common models such as the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition or Toyota Sequoia. But the more luxurious Grand Wagoneer intends to compete with luxury classics such as the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator or Lexus LX.

It is interesting that the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models got a little rid of the Jeep name on their way to higher society, which practically does not appear on their body. Only the Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer markings on the front, back and sides. Belonging to the brand, however, is still revealed by the characteristic radiator grille with seven holes, a robust bow and the silhouette of an honest SUV.
And how to easily distinguish between a Wagoneer and a more luxurious Grand Wagoneer? The bow itself, the different shape of the lower hole and its edging are a big help. The Grand Wagoneer also has a more pronounced chrome plating of the radiator grille, the Wagoneer inscription is directly in the grille (while the ordinary Wagoneer on the hood), has premium LED lighting, a more pronounced chrome plating and a two-tone black lacquered roof. At first glance, it is simply clear who is more luxurious here. But the Grand is also more powerful.

Even a basic Wagoneer has nothing to be ashamed of. Under its hood is hidden a 5.7-liter V8 engine in combination with an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering the highest output of 292 kW and 548 Nm of torque. An interesting feature is the 48V mild-hybrid system, which is able to help the internal combustion engine with a torque of up to 176 Nm. The luxury crumb can handle acceleration from 0 to 96 km / h in about 6 seconds, but both models can also handle a trailer weighing over 4.5 tons, which should again significantly exceed the competition.
Like the right Jeep models, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer also offer an all-wheel drive system. Specifically, three systems. Depending on the model and equipment, the customer can get the 4×4 Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II or Quadra-Drive II system, which also has a special transmission for more demanding climbs and offers Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow and Sand / Mud driving modes. In addition, both luxury SUVs can wade to a depth of 610 millimeters. The difference is also in the chassis, which is already in the air at the Grand Wagoneer and allows you to increase the ground clearance by up to about 254 mm for easier ground handling, or reduction for better aerodynamics.

Acoustic glass, special door seals or noise-reducing systems also contribute to maximum comfort on the road. Above all, however, the crew can look forward to a spacious and richly equipped interior. According to Stellantis, both the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models offer the most space in their segment. Both are additionally equipped with three rows of seats for seven to eight passengers. Depending on the equipment, a number of valuable materials appear in the interior, including American walnut wood paneling, aluminum accessories, Nappa leather or Palermo leather upholstery, etc.
The interior is also full of screens. In the top equipment of the Grand Wagoneer we find one screen directly in front of the driver, another two in the middle of the dashboard, one in front of the passenger and another three for the rear seats. With the standard Wagoneer, the offer is a bit poorer, yet the interior still looks modern and valuable. Infotainment works with the Uconnect 5 system and, in addition to wireless Apple Car Play, also offers support for Android Auto, wireless updates, Amazon Alexa voice assistant or Amazon Fire TV. The McIntosh system with 23 speakers, a 12 ”subwoofer and a total output of 1,375 watts will ensure quality audio in the Wagoneer model.

In addition to performance, space and luxury, however, Wagoneer also promises a high level of safety. The car is equipped with more than 120 safety or assistance systems, including support for semi-autonomous level 2 steering, night vision, digital rearview mirror, automatic parking, etc. Wagoneer should simply pamper the crew like no other previous model of the brand. And the same should apply to dealers.
Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer simply don’t want to be just ordinary Jeeps anymore, which should be matched by exceptional care for their owners or future customers. Sales of both models should only be allowed to dealers who have received a “Customer First” rating from JD Power in the past. These stores will have a specially designed floor and staff only for Wagoneer products.

In addition to a special approach at dealers, customers can look forward to a 24/7 assistance program or a five-year service included in the price of the car, during which they will be provided with a spare car, their car will be picked up and then returned, and in addition to servicing it will also clean, wash and refuel. In short, services that until now Jeep owners could usually only dream of.
In the case of the Wagoneer, we are talking about the price tag from $ 59,995 (approximately CZK 1,135,000), while the Grand Wagoneer starts from $ 88,995 (CZK 1,950,000). Both SUVs will be manufactured at Warren’s Michigan plant, and both are expected to arrive at select dealerships during the second half of this year.
