JCI Happy Weekend! Foreigners Buy BRI-Independent, Sell UNVR-INDF

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) closed higher on Friday (10/15/2021) trading this weekend, having traded in the red zone all day.

The national benchmark stock exchange index closed up 0.11% to 6,633.34. At the beginning of today’s trading, the JCI had shot up more than 0.5% and broke the level of 6,645.26. But after that, JCI immediately reversed direction. JCI is still able to register strengthening after scoring hat trick alias rose three days in a row.

Trade data noted that today’s transaction value rose to Rp 17.6 trillion. Foreign investors are recorded as still making net purchases (net buy) of Rp 665 billion in the regular market. A total of 244 stocks rose, 258 stocks fell and 163 others were stagnant.

Today, foreigners are recorded to have collected the two largest bank stocks with market capitalization (big cap) today, namely shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) and shares of PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI).

In addition to collecting shares of BBRI and BMRI, foreigners are also recorded as collecting shares of listed agro-commerce issuers of BBRI subsidiaries, namely PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Agroniaga Tbk (AGRO), shares of coal mining issuers PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) and PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG). , as well as shares of telecommunication tower issuer PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG).

Meanwhile, from net sales, foreigners recorded selling three shares big cap, namely the shares of consumer issuers PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR), bank shares PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA).

In addition, foreigners also sold shares of consumer issuer PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF), shares of telecommunication issuer PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL), and shares of pharmaceutical issuer PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF).

JCI was able to rise at the end of trading thanks to the positive global and domestic sentiment. From abroad, the three benchmark stock indexes of the United States (US) stock exchange, Wall Street closed in the green zone with a significant increase this morning.

The Dow Jones Industrial Index (DJI) added 1.56%. The S&P 500 index gained 1.71% and the Nasdaq Composite led the gains with an appreciation of 1.73%.

Significant gains in Wall Street’s three stock indexes of more than 1.5% were triggered by the release of the issuer’s better-than-expected financial performance.

Meanwhile, positive sentiment from within the country came from the trade balance surplus in September 2021 which reached US$ 4.37 billion.

The trade balance surplus was driven by an increase in exports which reached 47.64% on an annual basis (year-on-year/yoy). Meanwhile, imports were also recorded to grow 40.31% on an annual basis at the same time.
