Jennifer Lopez introduced her 14-year-old daughter Emma to the stage, using a gender-neutral pronoun, at the LA Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond gala concert on Thursday.
The 52-year-old singer was applauded by fans when she called the teenager “my favorite duet partner” and introduced Emma before the song, using the pronoun “they”.
Emma and Max are twins that Jennifer Lopez has from her ex-husband Mark Anthony. She recently got engaged to Ben Affleck, with whom they renewed their relationship.
Jay Lo said: “The last time we had a joint performance was in a big stadium like this and I ask them to sing with me all the time, but they don’t! So this is a very special occasion. They are very, very busy, always engaged. They are expensive for me when they go somewhere. But they are worth every penny, because they are my favorite duet partner of all time. Jennifer and Emma amazed the audience as they performed Christina Perry’s “A Thousand Years,” as the teenager used a rainbow-colored microphone and wore bright pink.
