Sad news again from Hollywood. Actor Jason David Frankknown for playing the Green Power Rangers in the 1990s, has passed away.
The news was confirmed by Frank, quoted by People. Frank died at the age of 49.
“Unfortunately the news is true,” said Jason’s rep David Frank.
“We hope the public will respect the privacy of his family and friends at this time of mourning. We are currently trying to come to terms with the loss of a truly remarkable human being,” he continued.
The cause of death of Jason David Frank is not yet officially known. However, a source told TMZ that Frank died by suicide.
Regarding this news, the family did not comment.
One of the actors who also starred in Power Rangers, Walter Emanuel Jones, expressed his condolences through an Instagram account. He admits it’s still hard to believe that Jason David Frank is no longer in the world.
“Can’t believe it. RIP Jason David Frank. Sad to lose another member of our special family,” Jones wrote as he uploaded a photo with Frank.
Jason David Frank known for his role as Tommy Oliver in the original series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers which aired in 1993. In the first season he was introduced as the Green Ranger, but as his strength started to wane, he switched to the White Ranger.
Jason David Frank recorded as the lead in 124 episodes in the broadcast period from 1993 to 1996. After that, he played Tommy Oliver several times in other Power Rangers series like Power Ranger Turbo, Power Rangers Dino Thunder, Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel.
Not only Power Rangers, Jason David Frank is also known for starring in other series. Among them are Sweet Valley High, voice actor of Transformers: Titans Return, and an episode of We Bare Bears.
Jason David Frank married his first wife, Shawna, in 1994 before divorcing in 2001. The two have four children.
In 2003, Jason David Frank remarried Tammie. During their marriage, they had one daughter before finally divorcing in 2022.
