Japanese Judo Champion Ryuju Nagayama inspires young judokas in visit to US Colomiers

Ryuju Nagayama, a resident of the Japanese national team, holder of an impressive track record, multiple world medalist, Cadet World Champion, Junior World Champion and Senior World Team Champion, in the race for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, came to visit to the judokas of US Colomiers, at the end of May.

In partnership with the Toulouse club Dojo Tonic Judo, the club of President Alexandre Saby welcomed this great Japanese champion and shared this exceptional event with some neighboring clubs and friends who share the same values. “It is the first time in the history of Toulouse judo that such a name frames a masterclass. It is even an almost unprecedented event in France”.

For a whole day, a hundred judokas shared his technical expertise, some Columérins were even able to face the world champion, not without emotion. A mondo, a traditional privileged discussion time between a teacher and his students, allowed the youngest to question Ryuju Nagayama, to share his experience as a champion and to learn more about Japanese culture. “A splendid day marked in the collective memory whose memories will remain indelible for all the participants”, rejoiced the president columérin.
