It was a different celebration of Thanksgiving this year for country singer and “One Tree Hill” actor Jana Kramer (37).
On Thursday, she celebrated without the children for the first time after divorce from Mike Caussin (34), who is a former American football player. The children must have been with Caussin, according to People.
“I have a heartache because I’m not with them today,” she begins the post.
“It hurts not to be with them today, and I have the feeling that whether it’s the first holiday apart or the thirtieth, it will hurt. BUT how grateful I am not to be your mom! ”
Infidelity and sex addiction
Earlier in the day, the singer posted a tear-soaked video on Instagram story from the couch at home in Nashville.
– Happy Thanksgiving, she said to the camera with shining eyes.
Kramer said she was aware that it was going to be tough. but that the rain did not help the pain. Then she pointed to the rolling tears.
– I will complete this, go for a run and count my blessings. Because there is a lot to be happy about. But it is also OK to feel the emotions. Holidays are not easy for everyone, at least not the first.
Caussin, for his part, admitted the infidelity a few years back, after being on treatment in 2016 and became comfortable owning the fact that he was sex-addicted, according toPage Six.
– I have fought, you. I have loved hard. I’ve forgiven, Kramer said after the breakup.
– The children should take my name
The divorce was finally in July and Kramer has applied for shared custody of their two young children, Jolie (5) and Jace (2). She has previously been open about with her followers on social media about being a single mother.
In September, the star talked about how the divorce has affected her in her own podcast “Wine Down”. There she said she could not hold back her tears when her last name was legally changed back to the girl’s name, Kramer.

– I cried because it was my children’s name, it felt so separate and it sucked, she said at the time.
Then she began to reflect on having a different last name than the children.
Kramer then said that they should have her name, since she gave birth to them and they have 70 percent of the time.
– And I thought, ‘I’ll never change my last name again. Never”.
The singer also sent warm thoughts to those who are having a hard time during the holidays in the same Instagram post. To them she has the following advice:
